Description

The Megger VIDAR Vacuum Interrupter Tester is a specialized tool designed to ensure the integrity of vacuum interrupters (VIs) in vacuum circuit breakers. It has been developed in collaboration with leading manufacturers in the field and is suitable for both commissioning and routine maintenance tests.

With five switchable voltage outputs (10kV, 14kV, 25kV, 40kV, and 60kV DC), the Megger VIDAR is connected to each pole of the vacuum circuit breaker to efficiently and safely test its performance. Additionally, there is an option to customize an additional voltage output ranging from 20kV to 60kV DC when placing an order.

Testing the integrity of vacuum circuit breakers is crucial to ensure their reliable operation during electrical faults. The Megger VIDAR accomplishes this by analyzing the relationship between breakdown voltage and vacuum pressure, providing electrical engineers with a quick and convenient indication of the device's suitability for its intended purpose.

Common faults that can lead to circuit breaker failure, which the Megger VIDAR can detect, include leakages that cause air to enter the vacuum chamber over time, and mechanical misalignment due to carbon residue buildup on the poles and exterior surface of the vacuum interrupter, resulting in reduced pole distance and unsafe operation.
